In 2000, a group of friends gathered in a small apartment in Warsaw came up with an idea of using the power of the Internet to search for jobs. This concept was inspired by British job market guides and career websites. As the Polish Internet was in the nascent stage of its development, the task was rather difficult. In the beginning, the Pracuj.pl website was just a side project for a traditional paper magazine titled Pracodawcy (Employers), as Polish companies needed time to trust online recruitment. Presently, every month Pracuj.pl is visited by millions of Poles, and Grupa Pracuj hires more than 800 persons in Poland and Ukraine.
